What areas do we investigate? E3Lab goes beyond limited ideas of energy and sustainable design. Our aim is to support the creation of innovative objects, buildings, cities that are high-quality, innovative, economical, comfortable, and ecologically conscious for the purpose of ‘live, work and play’. The following "equation" describes the main areas of our work:

How is E3Lab different from other consultancy firms? E3Lab is different from any other consultancy firm because we develop strategies based on design optimization to obtain sustainability rather than focus only on building services. According to our ongoing research, 80% of the potential achievable in sustainability is in architecture related design variables. However, most sustainability consultants focus mainly on mechanical systems optimization without regard for the architectural design.

What are the characteristics of our consultancy? Through extensive knowledge of sustainable design principles and detailed computer modelling, we offer support for a sustainable design of buildings, technologies and master plans, thereby aiding architects, engineers and developers to achieve their environmental goals in a creative and cost-effective manner.

Who E3Lab relates to a design process? The Model of Sustainable Design that we proposed in integrated and in collaboration with all the actors involved in the design process. Our involvement begins in the early stages of design by determining the project’s sustainability targets, in light of ethical goals, legislation and market opportunities. This is followed by a holistic analysis and guidance. We then develop creative solutions and test their effectiveness via computer-based environmental modelling tools. Benefits are quantified.
What are the stages of the consultancy? Our work typically includes the following four stages:
UNDERSTANDING: Understanding the needs of the client and design team and the environmental opportunity. 
EVALUATION: Assess which sustainable strategies are practicable and quantify the potential environmental benefits and savings through the cost - benefit analysis. 
DEVELOPMENT: Develop strategies selected from the preliminary phase of the project until the execution phase. 
VERIFICATION: Monitor and certify the results obtained.
